Available test methods

Depending on the chosen variant, the GLP2-Basic combines up to 21 test methods in one enclosure:

• Protective conductor test (PE) — up to 30 A with electronically controlled constant test current; resistance calculated from voltage drop. Accurate, wear-free, compliant with EN 50191.
• Insulation resistance test — up to 6 kV, measurement between all conductors (class I) or conductors and housing parts (class II). Automatic discharge after measurement.
• High voltage test AC — up to 6 kV at 100 mA, electronically controlled. Automatic interruption when maximum leakage current is exceeded.
• High voltage test DC — up to 6 kV at 4 mA, direct voltage. Same protection as AC variant.
• Leakage current test — earth leakage and housing leakage current per EN, UL and international standards. Performed in parallel with the function test.
• Substitute leakage current test — suitable for situations without supply voltage on the test object.
• Function test single-phase 5 A — specialised measurement for low power ratings (e.g. LED lighting). Test voltage electronically generated in the device.
• Function test single-phase 16 A — external test supply via separate rear connection. Measurement of current, cosφ, active/reactive/apparent power.

• GLP2-Basic 1930 — PE + Insulation + HV AC + HV DC + Leakage + Function AC, complete combination tester
• GLP2-Basic 1322 — PE + Insulation + Function AC + Function DC, for products not requiring a high voltage test

Three operating modes: manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic

The GLP2-Basic is designed for every test scenario:

• Manual mode — unique in this class: all integrated test methods are directly usable without a test plan, like a multimeter. Measurement units and parameters are adjustable during a running measurement. Ideal for laboratory and repair stations.
• Semi-automatic mode — the operator follows the on-screen instructions, the device takes over the measurements. Suitable for varied production tasks with manual connections.
• Fully automatic mode — seamless integration into production lines via 19″ housing and industrial interfaces. Remote control via RS232, SCPI, PLC, PROFIBUS, PROFINET, EtherCAT and more.

Software: test plans, reporting and network

The GLP2-Basic runs on Windows Embedded with a 7-inch touchscreen. The included free editor&printer software offers:

• Management of up to 10,000 test plans and 250,000 test step results in the internal database
• Fully automatic test sequence with step-by-step display and GO/NO-GO evaluation
• User management with access levels — changes only by authorised persons
• Test reporting on paper, as PDF or CSV, in 15 languages including Dutch and English
• Freely configurable label printing for thermal transfer printers
• Network connection for central storage of test plans and results
• Remote maintenance and remote calibration via external access
• Script editor: PLC-like logic directly in the test device, for complex automation sequences

Safety: PL e, SIL 3, Cat. 4

Depending on the chosen variant and hazard level, the GLP2-Basic meets Performance Level e (PL e), SIL 3 and Cat. 4 per EN 50191. The dual-channel safety input with force-guided safety relays guarantees high process reliability. Automatic plausibility checks, built-in safety messages and connection options for warning lights and emergency stop are standard.

Technology Package: enhanced Windows interface

For applications with higher demands on user comfort, the optional Technology Package is available. This upgrades the GLP2-Basic to a full Windows PC with external touchscreen, improved test plan revision with dual-control principle and full integration with ERP, MES, PPS and CAQ systems. Ideal for globally networked production environments.
