High voltage tester GLP2-Basic HV

The GLP2-Basic HV is used for testing the electrical insulation capacity and dielectric strength (air and creepage distances) of electrical components, assemblies and devices. Tests can be performed manually with safety test guns or fully automatically via pre-programmed test sequences.

The equipment delivers an extremely stable and precise test voltage, making it ideal for both serial testing and type and material testing. The high voltage is generated electronically and adjusted fully automatically using ramp profiles. A rotary button on the front panel is available for manual testing.

ARC detection

The GLP2-Basic HV features integrated ARC detection as a supplement to the standard high voltage test. ARCs (partial discharges) are detected and counted per period of the high voltage. If the number of ARCs in a period exceeds the adjustable threshold value, the test object is rejected. This is a valuable addition for detecting insulation weaknesses that are not visible during a standard leakage current test.

The GLP2-Basic HV can be expanded with various accessories for a more efficient production environment:

  • Barcode scanners — for reading order data and serial numbers
  • Label printers — thermal transfer printers for printing labels after testing
  • Connection boxes — for quick and easy connection of test objects
  • Test dummies/blackboxes — for daily verification of the tester

When to choose the GLP2-Basic HV, GLP1-g or GLP2-Modular?

The GLP2-Basic HV is the dedicated high voltage tester: up to 50 kV AC, ARC detection, 19″ rack integration and full network connectivity. Ideal when you specifically need a high voltage tester for production or laboratory.

For a compact multifunction tester with up to 9 test methods (PE, insulation, HV, functional test), the GLP1-g is the better choice. For unlimited configuration options and complex custom multi-testers, the GLP2-Modular is the top-tier model.
