The so-called Growler is a simple tester for testing (small) anchors.
The Growler is applied to check an anchor for winding closure. When placing the anchor in the device, the Growler serves as a primary coil and any closure in the anchor as a secondary coil.
Through this closure, the coil induces a magnetic field that one can detect with, for example, a saw blade.
This refurbished Growler has since been sold. Good news: IONIO also supplies a new Growler armature tester for testing DC armatures and windings.
