When do you use the TURA-01 BLUE?

The TURA-01 BLUE is designed for verifying transformers in substations, during commissioning, after maintenance and during periodic inspections. The instrument checks whether the winding ratio matches the nameplate values and detects deviations caused by winding errors, shorted turns or incorrect connections. With its single-phase cable configuration, three-phase transformers can also be tested by switching connections per phase — the instrument automatically displays the correct connection diagrams for each vector group.

What does the TURA-01 BLUE measure?

The instrument performs the following measurements:

• Turns ratio — measurement range 0.8 to 15,000, accuracy 0.08%
• Core excitation current — indication of core and winding condition
• Phase angle — verification of phase relationship between primary and secondary
• Polarity — additive or subtractive
• Ratio error — percentage deviation from nominal ratio

Test voltages and measurement modes

The TURA-01 BLUE generates five selectable test voltages: 1 V, 4 V, 10 V, 40 V and 100 V AC. This makes the instrument suitable for both small distribution transformers and large power transformers in substations with high excitation currents. The test voltage is automatically adjusted based on the selected transformer configuration.

Vector groups and connection diagrams

The TURA-01 BLUE contains a complete library of connection diagrams for all common vector groups. You select the desired vector group and the instrument immediately shows how to connect the cables — without a separate manual or additional documentation. This significantly reduces setup time in the field.

Bluetooth, printer and data logging

The built-in Bluetooth module enables wireless connection to DMP software on PC. Via USB, up to 100 measurement records are stored in internal memory, or unlimited on an external USB flash drive. The built-in 2.25-inch printer provides an immediate paper printout of measurement results — useful for commissioning or inspection reporting without a laptop.

Ruggedness and field suitability

The enclosure has IP67 protection (case closed). The built-in battery makes the TURA-01 BLUE fully autonomous without mains power. The multilingual menu and 4.3-inch colour touchscreen ensure clear operation, even for less experienced users.

Difference from TURA-03

The TURA-03 is the three-phase variant with simultaneous 3-phase measurement, test voltage up to 250 V and a measurement range up to 50,000. The TURA-01 BLUE is the single-phase choice for locations where compact size, autonomous operation and Bluetooth connectivity are the deciding factors.
