CIBRE-30 series – 3-contact Circuit Breaker Analyser with motion analysis
The CIBRE-30 is a complete circuit breaker analyser for single-phase and single-pole-at-a-time measurements on LV, MV, and HV breakers. Three dry contact inputs measure both main and insertion resistor contacts. Motion analysis (speed, stroke, bounce) via linear or rotary encoder, plus voltage inputs on auxiliary contacts and coil current logging. With 7-inch touchscreen, built-in 2.28-inch printer, and optional Li-ion battery, the CIBRE-30 is fully field-ready in an IP67 case.
Applications
- Periodic inspection of MV and HV circuit breakers: contact timing, motion, and coil current in a single test session
- Commissioning of vacuum, SF6, oil, and air breakers single-pole
- Factory Acceptance Test at switchgear manufacturers with digital reporting via DMP software
- Maintenance interval monitoring in accordance with IEC 62271-100 and IEEE C37.09
Key features
- 3 dry contact inputs with detection of main and insertion resistor contacts
- Contact timing for O, C, O-C, C-O, and O-C-O operating sequences
- Motion analysis: Transducer Speed, Stroke, and Bounce
- Optional: linear encoder 325 mm or rotary encoder
- Voltage input V1 (analogue 0–250 V DC or ACpeak) and V2 (presence/absence 24–300 V DC or ACpeak)
- Coil current measurement 0–20 A DC, bandwidth 5 kHz
- Timing accuracy 0.05% rdg ± 0.1 ms across time windows of 1 s, 10 s, and 20 s

- Optional Bluetooth for wireless data transfer
- Optional Li-ion battery 14.4 V / 6.9 Ah for off-grid field work
- Protection class IP67 (case closed), operating temperature −10 to +60 °C
Which model fits your application?
Choose the CIBRE-30 if you measure pole-by-pole or work on single-phase circuit breakers and want to analyse not just contact timing but also the mechanical side (speed, stroke, bounce) and coil current. For simultaneous measurements on all three phases of a three-phase breaker in one run, the CIBRE-60 is the right choice.
If you do not need motion analysis and only want to measure contact timing, the lighter CIBRE-L3 is a more efficient choice (3 kg, 4.3-inch display). For additional contact resistance measurements in micro-ohm range, the ARES-200D is a logical complement.
