Absolute decay leak tester T6990
The T6990 is the entry-level leak tester that measures according to absolute pressure decay.
The T6990 offers an interface selection that, although more limited compared to the high-end T8990 model, is still very versatile and complete
Leak testers are used to detect leaks in sealed systems (leak tightness measurements), e.g. pipes, tanks, machinery, etc. It is important to detect leaks to prevent hazardous substances from escaping and to ensure that systems continue to operate efficiently. Different types of leak testers are available, but the two most common types are based on absolute decay or differential decay.
The T6990 is the leak tester that measures according to absolute pressure decay.
A leak tester based on absolute decay measures the pressure in a sealed system, If a leak is present, the pressure in the system will slowly decrease. The leak tester measures how much the pressure decreases over a period of time, and based on this measurement, it can be determined if there is a leak .
Always a simpler leak test
An innovative new design that builds on the success of its predecessor, the M6990 Leakster, the T6990 offers significant improvements, including an enhanced user interface. This improvement is made possible through the use of an advanced tempered glass panel with a built-in capacitive keyboard and an impressive 3.5-inch colour display. The new high-resolution display significantly facilitates the viewing of test cycles and programme menus, while the capacitive keyboard enables fast and efficient parameter input.
All the connections you need
The T6990 offers an interface selection that, although more limited compared to the high-end T8990 model, is still very versatile and complete. It includes a USB slave port, RS232, RS485 and Can-bus connectivity. In addition, a master USB port is available on the front panel for connecting a USB stick to save performed tests, backup/restore parameters and perform firmware updates.
The T6990 supports automatic connection of thermal printers, barcode and data matrix readers, as well as markers via a user-friendly internal menu.
Compact leak tester, but powerful
The T6990 offers a measurement resolution of 0.1 Pa to 1 bar (0.5 Pa to 6 bar) that is stable and noise-free, sharing some of the advanced measurement part with the higher-end T8000 and T9000 series. Although designed as an entry-level model, the measurement performance of the T6990 delivers the same impressive quality as the rest of the ForTest range.
Despite compact dimensions that brought requirements for simplified menus, the T6990’s user interface is designed for easy programming of test parameters.
The front panel of the T6990 is made of a single piece of tempered glass and aluminium, making it easy to clean. This makes the T6990 suitable for use in laboratories and on production lines.
The extensive internal menus are user-friendly and the graphical interface is designed to display only relevant information.
