LPG cylinder valves are designed to control the flow of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from a gas cylinder. It is important that these valves work properly and are leak-free to ensure the safety of using LPG gas cylinders.
There are several specifications used to test LPG gas cylinder valves. Recently, standard UNI EN ISO 15995 (Gas cylinders – Specifications for testing LPG cylinder valves – Hand-operated) has been updated in the gas sector (medical, domestic and industrial), which provides for a revision of leak testing on high-pressure gas valves.
This new standard UNI EN ISO 15995 provides for testing products at pressures between 30 and 32 bar, with maximum leakage of 15 cc/h.
The expected cycle time with the T8090 is about 45 sec, taking into account filling, stabilisation and test time.
The valve must be fully opened during the test, i.e. the tightness of the housing must be checked. Our leak tester T8090 DUAL ABSOLUTE leak tester meets the requirements set in the standard with a maximum pressure rating of 35 bar.
