Current standards require routine verification of test and measurement systems beyond annual calibration. IONIO B.V. supplies black boxes to meet these requirements.
According to the VDE regulations, testers must be subjected to a function check at regular intervals. It must be ensured that the tester measures correctly. A test dummy is used for this purpose. It usually consists of reference resistors whose measured values are marked on the outside of the test dummy.
The test dummy is connected to the test leads of the tester.
Based on the reference resistors and the test voltages coming from the tester, corresponding test currents flow through the resistors. The test performed should confirm these reference values within preset tolerances.
Other common names for the test dummy are: Black Box, Self-Test Black Box, Setting Master, Measuring Master or Golden Device.
The black box complies with the requirements as specified in the CIG 023 and can be used with our GLP1 and GLP2 ranges.
